Adult Bed Wetting In The News

Here are new stories and developments around in the world that are focused on preventing, stopping and increasing awareness of adults who suffer from bed wetting.

September 2011 – The Daily Mail Online published a feature story about bed wetting which speaks with several adults who still wet the bed. Among those people interviewed in the article is British actor and comedian Martin Clunes who has not yet found a solution that completely works for him.

August 2011 – The FDA has now approved the use of Botox to treat people who suffer from an overactive bladder condition caused by spinal cord injuries or multiple sclerosis. The use of Botox for overactive bladders is just one of the many uses of the toxin that works by blocking nerve signals. This treatment could help men and women who regularly urinate 6 or more times per night or who wet the bed due to an overactive bladder condition.

April 2010 – Comic Sarah Silverman releases her new book entitled The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee. Known for her crude over-the-top humor and language, the first chapter of her book really does go into great detail about the urinary incontinence problems she suffered into high school and how she eventually overcame them (short story: she used a bed wetting alarm).

September 2009MedIndia Has A Short Articled About A Bed wetting Woman Who Cut Down Her Water Intake - Doctors have a advised a woman who was suffering from constant urination and bed wetting to simply drink less water. Apparently she heard that drinking water was good for her skin so she was drinking way too much. For some adults who wet the bed a solution to their problem could be as simple as this: drink less fluid and take note of what an increase of drinking does to your body.

Adult Bed Wetting NewsApril 2009 – The New Vision Shows Adult Bed Wetting To Be A Problem In All Parts of the World – Uganda’s leading news website has a good overview story about the causes and effects of bed wetting in adults and then personalizes the problem by profiling a 32 year old women named Diedre who had to deal with her night time bed wetting issues through boarding school and has yet to get married, in part because of the trauma her condition has caused her.

February 2009 – MSNBC Profiles Adult Sufferers of Bed Wetting – The online news site MS-NBC has a feature story about adults who wet the bed and they mention many of the same causes and even some of the same treatments for night-time incontinence that we mention. I was glad to see that it profiled men and women from all age groups and they even seem to make the distinction between primary and secondary enuresis. The article focused more on the psychological symptoms of the problem and didn’t go into detail about some of the many night time bed wetting prevention methods available today.
