I thought I would share my adult bed wetting story with you to try to explain why I want to help other people with this same “secret” problem.  I happen to believe that bed wetting by adults is probably under reported both by the media and even by patients to their doctors.  It can be embarrassing and shameful for anyone to wet the bed, but it’s obviously much more so in adults who should “know better.”

I am a middle-aged adult man who has never had a history of bed wetting, but found myself occasionally having accidents at night last year.  At first I hid my bed wetting from my wife, but after a string of accidents all in the same week I couldn’t hide it anymore.  We thankfully had a mattress cover already and we discussed the problem briefly.  I didn’t know why an otherwise healthy guy like myself would wet the bed, especially at my age.

I tried a number of different ways to diagnose and cure my bed wetting issues.  I finally went to see a urologist who diagnosed me with Adult Onset Secondary Enuresis, which is basically saying that I was someone who “became” an adult bed wetter, rather than someone who was genetically disposed to it.  I underwent some physical and psychological tests to try to find the reason for a healthy adult like myself might wet his bed.  What worked for my bed wetting problems as and adult may not work for you.  In the end I made some behavior and diet modifications, took some mental and physical steps and tried some medication.  All led to my adult bed wetting problem being largely “cured” – though I hesitate to call it that.

I’ve had only one or two minor incidents since discovering the solution to my adult enuresis, and those have been mostly in times when I was stressed or had a little too much to drink.

I bounced from one adult bed wetting solution, trying different types of bedwetting alarms, to trying other solutions with partial success and I was unable to find much information about adult bed wetting online at the time.  I’ve started this website to help others who are in the same situation as I and are looking for solutions and answers to their adult bed wetting problems.
